Alongside Alex Chidiac, we've launched a limited collection for fans whilst raising funds for One Ball charity
The collection features match worn kits & reworked accessories made from her old travel and training gear.
Launching on the Unwanted FC website at 5pm AEST on June 17, 2025 – 50% of all profits will be donated to the football charity One Ball, an organisation focused on providing equal access to football for children from all backgrounds.
The Melbourne Victory and Matildas midfielder has been a long-time supporter of the Unwanted FC movement:
“Unwanted FC has given me the opportunity to repurpose my excess kits and use the profits to support organisations doing amazing work in the football community. I hope more athletes across all codes consider getting involved. We’ve never needed initiatives like this more than we do right now.” says Chidiac.
Coming together are three like-minded forces, using football as a platform for social and environmental good. The partnership with Alex is an ongoing project that’s been developing since 2022, and we're now calling out to other athletes across the different sporting codes to get involved and put their unwanted playing and training gear to good use to raise funds for their charity of choice.
In a world full of clutter, this bespoke collection challenges the norm. Utilising creative design, sport, and community to lead positive change.
According to Green Football, approximately 100,000 tonnes of sportswear ends up in UK landfills each year. Upcycling offers a powerful solution. Drastically reducing textile waste, water usage, and carbon emissions by extending the life of existing high-performance fabrics and avoiding resource-intensive manufacturing.
Since fruition in late 2018, we have given thousands of old garments a new lease on life through the art of upcycling. Yet, we still feel like there’s an abundance of opportunity to continue the project.
